01 / THE PRINCIPAL

Meet Clara Vane

Clara Vane is Principal Conversion Scientist at CopyLab Research Group. Her work centers on the space between what a business intends to say and what a prospective customer can actually understand, believe, and act on. She approaches copy as a sequence of decisions rather than a collection of clever lines.

Her background in behavioral economics and direct-response testing informs a practical question: what must change in the reader’s understanding before the next step feels worthwhile? That question can lead to a sharper headline, better proof, a more honest explanation of a process, or an experiment that challenges the original brief.

02 / THE LAB

Independent by design

Founded in 2021, CopyLab Research Group LLC is based at 88 Benefit St, Unit B, Providence, RI 02904. The lab works with teams that want to understand message-market friction and make more defensible decisions about conversion copy.

The work combines qualitative inquiry, copy analysis, and quantitative testing when the available traffic and research design support it. Scroll-depth and saccadic eye-tracking teardowns can reveal useful patterns of attention, but those observations need context. We distinguish a hypothesis from an observed outcome and an illustrative example from a documented case.

03 / HOW WE WORK

Curiosity with a paper trail

Every engagement begins with the audience and the decision at hand. We ask for the language customers use, the evidence behind the offer, and the constraints that shape the experience. When data is incomplete, we say so and design the next useful way to learn.

Our recommendations are intended to be actionable by the people who own the product and customer experience. That means making assumptions visible, explaining why a change is proposed, and choosing measures that reflect business quality as well as clicks. We prefer a credible conclusion with limits to a confident story the evidence cannot carry.

04 / OUR POINT OF VIEW

Evidence should make the work useful

An effective message gives people a fair chance to understand the value and the commitment in front of them. That means respecting the difference between a persuasive explanation and a claim that cannot be supported. Our work makes room for both commercial ambition and the reader’s need for clarity.

Some projects begin with a question about a single headline. Others reveal a mismatch between the promise at the top of the page and the details a buyer encounters later. In either case, the purpose of an inquiry is to identify the right problem before deciding which words to change.

For general questions, write to lab@copylab.ai. For an audit or a project conversation, contact Clara directly. We will discuss the available evidence, the people involved, and an appropriate next step before recommending a scope.
